The Frogs game manual is available online and gives a detailed description of the specifics of the game, how it is played, how to service it, a parts list, and other important information about the maintenance of the arcade game.  The manual gives a comprehensive detailed description of how to set up the game and keep it running if something should go wrong. However, while the maintenance can be done by the owner of the machine, for the most part, it is still limited and the manual states to send any machine in for service at the Gremlin factory if the seller of the machine cannot help. Gremlin has gone out of business since the game was made which would make any servicing difficult and endangers the longevity of the game. At the time of release, video game preservation was not thought of as an important factor (Carta 193). Emulation is one of the key ways to preserve video games and according to Giovanni Carta is regarded as the best way to preserve video games. However, because of the way that Frogs was designed it relied heavily on the physical art of the machine, and even if that were to be replicated in a digital setting it would still lack perfect preservation. Carta agrees that while digitization is important to keep certain video games from falling into obsolescence, it is important to note that it is difficult to keep a video game in its original form when digitizing it.
