The film represents Lolita from the book.

Since the Lolita movie directed by Stanley Kubrick was released in 1962, Lolita's visual performance has exploded. However, this visualization tends to represent "Lolita," which is very different from how Lolita is constructed in Nabokov's novel (Laing, 2020).

In the scene where Humbert meets Lolita for the first time, Lolita wears a bikini-style costume with naked arms, legs, waist, and shoulders. Lolita was lying on the lawn reading a book with a big sun hat and sunglasses. Stanley Kubrick presented the image of a 12-year-old girl with a"sexy" visual effect to the audience. Therefore, Humbert's love at first sight for Lolita seems to be a middle-aged man's fascination with the body of adolescent girls. The visualization of Lolita in the film has aggravated the public's perception that Humbert's feelings for Lolita in the novel are just cathartic desires of pedophiles.
