Introduction

Do you still recall Adventure, the first video game to feature easter eggs in 1979? The enormous success of the game inspired Atari to make a sequel that combines reality with in-game adventure. Hence, one of the most legendary game series in video game history was born; this is known as Atari's Swordquest tetralogy. Each chapter comes with a video game, and a DC comic book produced exclusively for the game. Meanwhile, the players were also involved in a real-world treasure hunt. The winners of the competitions were granted a prize made of precious metals. Unfortunately, the Video Game Crash of 1983 hit Atari, resulting in the termination of Airworld, the last chapter of the Swordquest series. Not only did the game have to be cancelled, but the financial crisis also led to the downfall of the Atari 2600, the only game console that Swordquest ran on.
