Although Atari had achieved fame and success, it quickly came to a halt because of his eagerness to seek a breakthrough. Such breakthroughs mostly benefit industry and culture, but it requires a gradual progression. In 1982, Atari lost its position due to excessive and unnecessary advancements. Atari's advantage had always been to lure the market and players with high-quality products, but E.T. relied on the popularity of movies and precise timing of Christmas; its quality had not yet reached a sufficient standard. As a result, Atari paid the fatal price of the company by seeking quick success.
