Introduction
This exhibit focuses on an endangered video game called Duck Hunt, which Nintendo released for their Nintendo Entertainment System (Famicom in Japan). The game was released in Japan in 1984, introduced to America in 1985 and Europe in 1987. The game was really popular in the 1980s until the early 1990s when the NES was discontinued (Science Museum Group, n.d.). The game started becoming endangered due to technological advancements. The technology used to play it started becoming obsolete as it was replaced by newer technology, and emulation cannot preserve the original experience.
