Introduction

This exhibit focuses on an endangered arcade video game called the Bionic commando, originally called the Top Secret: Hitler no Fukkatsu. This game is produced and released by Capcom for the Nintendo entertainment system and family computer in 1987. There are two versions of this game: the Japanese version, which is the only version that is uncensored in the world, and the other is the international version, which is censored. This game is banned and cencored due to the restrictions under the Nintendo era of censorship. The Nintendo era of censorship is around the late 1980s and the mid-1990s, where Nintendo’s corporate priority is to present only family-friendly themes and content.
