Conclusion

There will always be differences in how reliquaries are made and decorated all over the world, especially because each culture finds different things important and beautiful, and has differing capacities to access specific goods. However, regardless of how and where a reliquary is made, it appears that the single constant in a world of reliquaries filled with differences, is their purpose and importance. As such, the Malcove Collection reliquary – though dull and unstable in appearance compared to others – can be considered just as important, because of the importance of reliquaries themselves.
