From 1982 to 2019, Q*bert has evolved a lot and ported to many platforms. It was originally released in October 1982 by Gottlieb, as a 2D action game. As one of the most successful video game formed by Gottlieb, Q*bert played a significant role in the golden age of arcade games. (Hodges, 2017)

Cabinet Era: 

In 1982, Q*bert's title character was created by Jeff Lee and the game was completed by Warren Davis. After canceled ” Faster Harder More Challenging Q*bert,” Davis release the ROM image onto the website. Then Q*bert Quest, a pinball game, was released in 1983, while the Q*bert Qubes developed. Accord to the previous technology, Q*bert improved to the full extent as an arcade game, using the cabinet. (Hodges, 2017)

Home Computer Era: 

In 1986, Konami used the title “Q*bert” to form a new game in the MSX computer. After the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) released in 1990, Q*bert 3 was developed and published in 1992, which was similar to the graphics in 1982, since they had the same graphic designer — Jeff Lee. Finally, the remake of arcade Q*bert (1982) released on the PlayStation and Microsoft Windows in 1999 and the Dreamcast in 2000. MSX is a home computer architect. SNES, PlayStation, and Dreamcast are home video game consoles. Microsoft Window is the computer operating system. In 2004, the sequel of Q*bert for Adobe flash was initially released as an emulation of 1982 version for ios devices by Sony Picture. Moreover, it acted as a download for windows in 2005, which laid the foundation for the system of future smartphone use. (Hodges, 2017)

With the invention of the Apple iPhone in 2007, the touchscreen interface became a trend. Therefore, Q*bert needs to evolve to adapt for mobile devices. Hence, in 2014, Q*bert Rebooted developed on Steam, iOS, and Android. Moreover, the Rebooted one released on different versions of PlayStation and Xbox to satisfy different needs of users' equipment. Finally, since the APP store served as a center of a different games operated by touchscreen, Q*bert joined the iOS app store in 2019 by Lucky-Kat games. (Hodges, 2017)
