This project provided the opportunity to understand how digital humanities work, both in the technology used and intentions of the creator of the exhibit. In relations to technology, Omeka is an easy to use tool so far but slightly cumbersome. This stems from how one must add an item, then add it to a collection, then add it to an exhibit. I would prefer an option to create the exhibit first, then do the following steps later. However, I am still confused about the relevancy of metadata on this project.

In relations to humanities, telling the story of banned books through digital exhibits is an opportunity to allow more people access information. However, I believe in being able to give knowledge in easy-to-consume chunks because many people are intimidated by large walls of text. Have the majority get the general idea but make the topic interesting enough for curious people to investigate. When looking into the topic and writing down what I have researched, I always must be mindful of how this work can be perceived by readers. The digital format and the simplification of information can potentially be misleading. The subject matter, The Prince, also forces me to be more mindful since the text is generally misunderstood throughout the ages, including the present.

I hope that the project has the potential to shed some light into the subject matter. It was not easy, but I believe it is a good start to really understand the significance of digital humanities.
