Material Object: Slow Looking

My primary object is an illustration representing a number of wolves covering the top half while a man covers the bottom half. The man seems to be naked while holding two similar objects in each hand. Each wolf seems to have a different fur pattern and colour. The largest wolf has been coloured with a tone mixed of blue and gray. It’s fur seems the most detailed with a wavy drawing technique. The other wolf is coloured with a bright beige tone with a smaller body frame. It’s fur detail is only expressed around its neck area with simple hatching. The last wolf can be partially seen behind the smaller wolf with similar details to its fur just in a gray tone. The man can be seen standing on top of a blue tree trunk while looking up at the sky or in another way looking at the wolves. He’s seen unclothed but still has it bottom half covering his groin and thigh area. He’s expressed as a man with a skinny build as you can see the details of his ribcage and bones. The background details are filled with a few trees in all green almost looking like broccoli. One of the trees is occupied by a bird nest with a mother and its babies. The birds are expressed with blue and white feathers with orange beaks. The whole image is engulfed with a dark beige colour representing the background.

This is a manuscript which originated from England, S.E. created by John Lydgate between between 1461 and c. 1475. It represents an event of King Edmund's decapitated head being surrounded by his retainers and a wolf. His retainers are clothed in colorful hats. The most detailed retainer seems to be kneeling on the ground holding his king's head. He is seen as closing his eyes assuming he is mourning or praying for the king's death. The wolf is right next to him laying on the ground without a fierce expressions which represents its tamed side.
