Context

The journal of theory and practice was created in Yeysk, Sain-Peterburg, USSR, from 1979 to 1987, by two “transfurists” “Sergei Sigei ( Sigov) and Ry Nikonova (Anna Tarshis) exploring and analyzing the development of literature trends, dedicating their life to work within the experimental arts, searching for the meanings of words beyond the conventional meanings. Each journal was issued in five copies, with no subscription, copies were passed from one to another, serving as an accelerator of art and culture. This journal was created and endangered as self-published, uncensored publications were unacceptable under the Soviet Regime. Those in involved in the production process and spread of samizdat could be jailed for spreading ideas that are contradict soviet ideologies.
