Anishchenko Exhibit Transponans

The exhibit will focus the publication of TRANSPONANS, a samizdat journal of theory and practice, published by Sergei Sigei ( Sigov) and Ry Nikonova (Anna Tarshis) in Yeysk, Sain-Peterburg, USSR, from 1979 to 1987. The journal is a work of experimental art that combines works of poets, artists, and theorists, as an expression of the artistic search for meaning, and process of the poetic state of mind. The artistic search for meaning of poetry within the experimental arts and interest in the development of “avangard” culture flourished the existence of “TRANSPONANS”. The intention that drove the production of the journal was a longing for understanding and reflection on culture, poetry, and art. Endangered by the repercussions of freedom of expression of speech under the Soviet Regime, the elements, the materials its made of, and the low number of copies of 5 of each issue.
