Dublin Core

Title

Beowulf f. 129 v

Subject

Beowulf; funeral of Scyld Scefing

Description

Folio 129 verso of the Beowulf manuscript (London, British Library, Cotton MS Vitellius A XV), showing the text of the poem's lines 122-146. The writing is clear Insular minuscule, verses written continuously, without line breaks. The page is shadowed by damage towards the bottom (the last four lines); its margins are obscured, both because of damage and because of necessary 19th century conservation work.
