Selected Poem Analysis

For this exhibit I chose to focus on two particular poems in the book with more eye brow raising titles.  The Poem of the Body (pages 167 - 175) and The Poem of Procreation (pages 240 – 243). This volume was attached by The Christian Examiner at the time of it’s publication claiming it was a “foul work” of “libidinousness”.

Below is a textual analysis of the content of Poem of the Body which shows the most common words in the poem with a key focus on the terms “woman” and “female” and “body”.

Below is contained the textual analysis of  Poem of Procreation which a key focus on the words “women”, “sex” and “lacking”.
