Input

Between 1968 and 1971, Input, was a panel discussion television program that ran locally in Philadelphia on CBS affiliated network, WCAU-TV10. The program was produced by Marion and John S. Stokes. Input often featured local artists, academics, community leaders, and religious figures in addition to platforming topics surrounding religion, violence, slavery, education, gender, environmentalism, and other issues in relation to civil or social rights. As seen in Marion Stokes' personal copies of the questions and issues documents that were given to guests on Input prior to taping. As evidenced by the documents, it is clear that Stokes had institutional power on her mind and as a key theme throughout the program's run. In particular, Stokes highlights the possibility of institutions having an influence on the prevalence of violence and social divide. Thereby, implying that institutions have an impact on social memory and the interpretation of it.
