Synopsis

The Exterminating Angel is a 1962 Mexican film from the surrealist director Luis Buñuel. It begins on the evening of a wealthy couple’s dinner party which the household servants are frantically preparing for. But, to the hosts’ dismay, the arrival of their guests triggers all but one of the servants to desert the mansion in succession. After the meal, the party continues into a lounging room where the guests mysteriously and impolitely decide to lay down for the night. The next morning, they find that they cannot leave the room. The prolonged captivity soon drives the group of friends out of their minds.
