Actually, the Canadian government's long-term goal is actually to weaken or even exterminate Aboriginal culture. “The Canadian government created residential schools. In these schools, students were not allowed to speak Aboriginal languages” (Neeganagwedgin, 2014). In these residential schools, these Aboriginal students are required to speak only English or French. If they speak their native language, they are likely to be severely punished. Therefore, when they are not allowed to learn and use this language, they have no opportunity or environment to learn and exercise. Then they will gradually become unfamiliar with the languages of these indigenous peoples. The Aboriginal language contains a lot of the essence of the Aboriginal culture. If they no longer use this language, it will be difficult for them to understand the culture of these indigenous peoples. In this case, when future generations no longer speak Aboriginal languages, these languages and their cultures are likely to be gradually forgotten and lost over time. If they successfully assimilate the descendants of the aboriginal people, they can reduce the disputes arising from cultural differences.
