The Seal

One of the secondary objects is a Seal from approximately 1213 and is believed to originate from England.  It is a circular silver engraved seal-matrix with the image of an armed knight wielding a sword while riding his equally armoured horse and a dragon below (The British Museum). The inscription on the seal reads “Seal of Robert Fitz Walter” and this is of importance because Robert Fitz Walter was of royal blood. The depiction of the knight carrying a sword is important because Beowulf also wielded a sword for defending the good and defeating the evil such as Grendel.
