Psychological Experiments help us understand how behaviour, cognition and social interaction interact. However, some of the most important studies that shape psychological education today were done under very unethical conditions. With this exhibit, I would like to explore the ethical dilemmas found in these psychological experiments and some lessons we can take from history.
The case studies and experiments presented in this exhibit highlight how the unethical experiments have led us to improvements in research. Guidelines given by the APA Ethical principles of psychologists and code of conduct help us understand the importance of informed consent and protection from harm when conducting these experiments.
