Metaphysical Spaces: The Conference of the Birds - Hemrajani MST202 TUT9102

This is an exhibition dedicated to exploring the use of metaphysical space in Farid ud-Din Attar's 'The Conference of the Birds' and the 'The Parable of Sheikh San'an in Love'. By mapping the journey Sheikh San'an takes, this exhibition considers the question of why metaphysical spaces are used to better comprehend spiritual beliefs? Through exploring the use of symbolism, allegory and motifs, the reader is encouraged to take a trip back in time to medieval Mecca and travel with Sheikh San'an and his disciples on their journey in search of the Divine Truth.
