Research Question: How do physical artifacts preserve and express the legacy of student-led aerospace innovation?
This exhibit explores how physical artifacts - from satellite prototypes to hand-painted team signage - carry the memory and momentum of student-led innovation. In this case, our focus is on the University of Toronto Aerospace Team’s Space Systems Division. These objects are more than remnants of engineering work: they are material witnesses to community, creativity, and long hours spent designing for the stars. Each item in this exhibit was selected to showcase how students, through iterative prototyping and shared tradition, shape an evolving aerospace legacy that spans generations. Through these artifacts, we ask: What does it mean to leave a trace in a field that is always looking upward?
