This is a collection of three items that relate to the story of "The Merchant and the Demon" in "The Thousand and One Nights." The items are: a manuscript illustration of "the red king of the djinns, Al-Malik al-Ahmar", a manuscript illustration of "Samhuras, the demon king of thursday", and a medieval Turkish saber. The manuscript referred to is the “Kitāb al-Buhān” or the “Book of Wonders” (Oxford).
